a BIG day for a little pip

So, I'm going to start off by saying, I'm NOT going to complain about Blythedale. Even though we totally hate it there, it smells really bad, has moldy carpet infested with bacteria (carpet in a hospital?? SICK-freakin-ING!!!), neglectful nurses and extremely poor communication. But I'm really not going to complain. I'm going to do the opposite. Sit back while i display a large amount of optimism.
A few reasons why we will live.....
~Piper is much stronger and does not require nearly as much support/care as she did while there in December
~Piper will get therapy again
~We can hold her comfortably without being within 2 inches of the bed
~The commute is much closer than it was to see her in NJ
~Fewer tolls
~Piper only has her trach tubes, feeding tube and one probe for O2 sats. That's about 6 less tubes/wires to worry about while changing her, playing with her and holding her. I can't express enough how much more convenient this is
~Blythedale is right next to a burger king! It's the only fast food place with a veggie burger. please, correct me if I'm wrong
~It's so much quieter than the PICU
~The drive is completely lovely
~They feel REALLY bad about what happened last time
So, I'm hoping this list gets longer with time and good experiences. I have to say....pulling away from her new hospital wasn't the same sick feeling that it was last time. They were very sensitive to our concerns and willing to listen. That says a lot for them. We did everything we could to prevent them from sending Piper back to Blythedale, but it really wasn't our choice. I hope she surprises us with improvements and growth. I know she can do it.
ps you should have seen piper on the ride up. she was so cute. and then, when they brought her out into the sunlight, she freaked out. poor little thing really hasn't seen the sun and yesterday was very sunny. when we left Columbia, she of course had her hand straight up in the air which looked like she was waving goodbye. all of her nurses got a big kick out of it. we will miss that place.

You have to take me shopping with you for baby clothes sometime. Piper always has the cutest clothes on.
