Piper decided her life isn't so bad

When we went to the hospital tonight, Pip was just kind of hanging out and looking around. We noticed she was the smelly kid in the unit and a bath was pretty much the only solution. We had a lot of fun scrubbing her down and lotionizing her. She was muy grateful to be clean. Well, I guess that she was so happy to be clean that she turned on the smile switch to high voltage. She started smiling while I was getting her dressed and NEVER stopped. Never. I have never felt such a bond with her. I smiled at her, she smiled back. I would sing to her, she would smile. I would shake a toy or give her a kiss, she would smile like it's going out of business. I looked at her and held her close, and she looked at me like she knew I was her mamma. I can't describe what that even felt like. I haven't felt it much, and I've doubted at times that she even knows the difference between me and the nurses. I can say tonight that she does.

It was tough for Jake and I to leave her tonight. We rode our new/old bikes to see her and on the way home I giggled at the cute thoughts of tonight's visit. I love my little girl so much. SO MUCH that I almost need to say a curse to get it in your blasted heads. Dont make me do that. I hope she is like this forever. I hope she plays and kicks and nuzzles and smiles and wiggles and giggles for the rest of my life. I really needed this night. I have never seen my sweet baby like this. I could see how much fun she was having.

Anyway, here are videos (i hope they work) and pictures of the cute-a-thon.

um... I'm pretty sure she just did sign-language for "daddy". Has she learned any of that yet? she totally pointed to her head when the nurse asked her "where's daddy?" and that's the sign for daddy! she's a GENIUS! I have some other baby signing dvd's you can borrow if you want!

so glad you had such an amazing visit with her!

I want to come with you for a visit this week sometime... when do you usually go?

Wow, she's changed so much since I saw her in June. Or is it just that she's feeling better?

She is getting so big! Isn't it so fun to get them dressed up? Oh, and yes...I like your new background very much.
