Glorious nieces

When we were in Boston last weekend, I noticed that Julie had made some dolls I have been wanting to make that I saw on Martha Stewart a few months back. Julie is one of the craftiest people I know (she REALLY is), so I wasn't sure I'd be able to make them, but they turned out pretty good. The pattern is pretty basic and self
explanatory, then you just spice up the dolls in any way you want. Like the little tuxedo feature on the one on the right and the flowers in their hair. My favorite part was putting the fabrics together. I have so much more at home that I can't wait to make.
I wanted to make one for each of my nieces and one for Piper Jane before we left, but that was kind of on the ambitious side. I didn't make one for Maya because she thinks dolls are "smookey" (spookey), and I decided not to make one for Kate because I didn't have time to make 5, 4 or even 3. She is only 3 months old so I don't think she'll mind waiting until she is a little older and I'll make P's when we get back home. The one on the left is for sophie and the one on the right is for Meg. Sophie likes hers and she already tried kissing it with ketchup face. That made me pretty proud.
So, the first reunion starts tomorrow and we'll be leaving that on Wednesday to head straight to the next. It has been great so far.
I also found this really awesome game on our new laptop while we were on the flight called Purble Place. You can make cakes and play memory on it. I just keep reaping more and more benefits of breaking our old laptop. I'm trying to think of what else I can break that strongly needs upgrading.

The dolls are adorable! Maybe I can get Crafty Julie to make me one. With red hair of course. :)
