Weekend, spottings and me, a bad sis.

The found footage festival was hilarious and dinner at frankie's was delicious. It was a really fun night and I hope the bennions (can't hyperlink from my phone) decide we're cool enough to to hang with out a lot more.

Spotting NO. 1: David Cross (aka tobias funke, run ronnie run, never nude, guy from scary movie 2). He seems to be pretty good friends with the guys who do the found footage festival. I'm a big fan of arrested development and he was one of my fave characters on the show...but I hear he hates mormons! Whack!

Sunday was an inspiring morning of church followed by a trip to see Pipsey (awesmely major). Which brings us to....

Spotting NO. 2: MCA, from the Beastie Boys. He was skateboarding in our neighborhood. Right across 180th on b'way! Jake may be their biggest fan of all time and after attending two concerts in two days last summer, I'd never mistake that face.

the next one wasn't amazing, just at the bank on monday I ran into the guy from big daddy who says "*bleep bleep* jetts" and "last monday was a fluke, bring it on, woman" followed by adam sandler leaning over to his young friend saying "he drinks a lot of soda". I have to admit, I've seen much cooler than these guys, but the only reason I'm reporting these "spottings" is because they were three days in a row. Kindacool.

We went to a Yank's game with the hardies last night (my first ever) and it was a good time. Not really an intense game or anything, but great company and stadium food. I love visiting with Becca.

And now, to touch on my final note...why I'm a bad, big sister: my little brother, Jesse, called me this morning with news of him getting his mission call. Mexico City, awesome, (unenthusiastic) woohoo...I'm worried sick already. I should be overwhelmed in thoughts of the blessings he'll get, the lives he'll change, the courage/strength/faith he has, how much he'll grow and the amazing experience he'll have, but I can't stop thinking about how many things can go wrong. And the danger!!! So much blasted danger there. I don't remember feeling this way when my older brother, Nathan, went. I just remember being sad because I would miss him. Maybe it's my protective, big sis-ness coming out. Seriously though, two years?? That is a long, long, long time. Don't they know that he's my only younger sib? And without him I would have been the youngest? And spoiled probably? Jesse is so nice and cute. One of the nicests and cutests ev'.

How will I be if I ever have a son?

You have seen much cooler than these guys? I don't mean to be argumentative, but I don't think that any celebrity sighting will ever hold a candle to seeing MCA Skateboarding less than a block from our house. Just sayin'

Congrats on Jessie--it's your momness--protective to the core. You can't help it. I have a nephew in Mexico and he's rockin' it there. It's all good, they get the flow and have extra protection.

Congrats to Jesse! I've had a few friends serve there and they loved it. It's not that bad..there are a zillion worse places to go. At least he won't be freezing his butt off somewhere like Russia! Piper is just precious...what a sweetie!

Oh, you're totally overreacting. You should be more like me. When I heard the news, I thought, well, what's the worst thing that could happen to a pretty boy like Jesse? Kidnapped, ransomed, mistakenly presumed dead by his family, and sold into white slavery for a fate worse then death? I felt really scared, but then I thought "what's for dinner?" (Nursing makes me very hungry.)
