What to do on a Sick day

I know I seem a bit desperate with my pretty much back to back posts, but I'm sick. And if making fun of sick people makes you feel good about yourself, do it. I used to call in sick (in high school) pretty much every time I sneezed. Now, that I'm a married, responsible and career focused adult, I hate calling in sick. It scares me so much and always makes me afraid of losing my job...and I really am sick!! Not only that, but staying home is BOR-freakin-ING! I can't even leave to go see Pip or go shopping! I just have to sit around all day and make things up to entertain myself. Here is what I have done, and what may be fun in the future:

  • Online shopping. Jake, please don't read this. But if you do, I promise I didn't spend a lot. I just ordered some pictures of Piper on shutterfly, then bought a book and a fireplace dvd from Amazon. Altogether less than $25 dollars. (time for Reagan logic) Since I saved a little from being a frequent user on shutterfly, and buying the book used, that is an extra $20 I would have spent, and *can now spend on whatever I want!!!! Yay!
  • Track your other online shopping shippings. My new umbrella should be here Monday.
  • Lifetime movies. I have one recording right now. I always like to start them about 30 minutes into it, so that I can ff through all the commercials.
  • Sleep, I have already tried several times, but Jake drank the last of the Nyquil.
  • Make a "welcome to Earth" gift for my soon to be born niece. I made her a baby blanket and even practiced swaddling one of Piper's donated teddy bears in it. I'll post pics soon. Kelly, please wash this when you get it since I accidentally sneezed several times on it without covering my nose/mouth.
  • Text Jake/or your own husband and ask what they are doing, when they are coming home, now what are they doing.....
  • Eat. I can't believe we don't have any soup.
  • Read a billion blobs.
  • Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. A few of my friends reccommended this product to me last fall, I will now trust them with my life. I search the apt for scuffs and marks to magically erase. I am a total sucker for anything that makes cleaning interesting-ish and fun-ish.

I guess that is about it. I am not super creative. The baby blanket is so cute though. Thanks Julie for the idea!

Things marked with *, means this is a joke.

Thank you for the clear demarcation of the joke portions of this post.

I'm so sorry you're sick!! I do think we should eat chocolate together, because I have it on very good authority that eating chocolate with someone who is not sick is a surefire way to get better. Love to you!

It all sounds pretty fun, but I guess it would only really be fun if you weren't sick. I'm saving this list, and will find out for myself the next time I'm sick. PS, Sarah Jane is quite the fan of El Magic Eraser.

Like I wouldn't wash a blanket before wrapping a newborn in it. (My three year old, on the other hand, can roll in the mud and kiss the dogs for all I care.)
